Dinosaurs Baby Sinclair Daddy Not the Mama Quote

If you haven't heard already, Dinosaurs, along with 37 other throwback shows, are now available on ABC's streaming app. As soon as the announcement (and the nostalgia) hit, we decided to marathon the '90s hit. And you know what we discovered? The show is still amazing. In fact, it's so great that we decided to share a few of our favorite episodes. Here are seven classics in no particular order:

1. "The Mighty Megalosaurus"

Dinosaurs Group

This episode is where it all began, so obviously it warrants a spot on the list. In it, Earl recounts the story of Baby's birth. Before finding out he had a little one on the way, Earl decides to ask his boss for a raise. *Spoiler: it doesn't end well and results in him getting fired from the 'ole tree-pushing business. Earl returns home to find Fran looking after an egg. In a fit of fear, Earl runs off to the woods but is later saved by his wife in a pretty cute scene. When Baby is finally born, he utters the classic "I'm the baby, gotta love me" phrase for the very first time.

2. "The Mating Dance"

Dinosaurs Earl and Fran

This episode makes the list because it features the origin of one of Baby's other phrases: "Not the mama". When Fran decides to take a short break from her family, Earl is put in charge. To say that things didn't go well is an understatement. Earl realizes how difficult Fran's daily life is after dealing with cooking dinner, and trying to keep the kids in line. When Earl realizes it's him that is making his wife unhappy, he decides to learn the "mating dance" to woo her. The dance doesn't quite come out the way Earl wants, but it is still adorable because he uses it to entertain Baby and to help  Baby sleep.

3. "The Golden Child"

Dinosaurs Earl and Baby

This list wouldn't be complete without including "The Golden Child," which was the first episode of season two. It's definitely one of the weirder episodes, but we love it all the same. When a mysterious golden unicorn-like horn sprouts from Baby Sinclair's head, he fulfills an ancient prophecy and becomes a celebrity after being named "King of the Dinosaurs." There's a pretty touching moment between Earl and Baby Sinclair at the end of the episode, so it's definitely worth watching.

4. "Switched at Birth"

Dinosaurs Baby Sinclair

This episode is one of our favorites for a number of reasons. When the Sinclairs think Baby's egg might have been switched before he hatched, they go on a mission to find his other family. When they arrive, they find a baby that is the same shade of green as them, wearing a shirt just like Earl's. When the families decide to swap babies, they quickly start to miss their own. One wacky magic show later and Baby Sinclair is back in his family's arms.

5. "Family Challenge"

Dinosaurs Family

There are many things we love about the "Family Challenge," but let's start with the obvious: This is a hilarious parody of Family Feud. After both of the family's television sets break at the beginning of the episode (one was tossed by Fran, while the other was obviously destroyed by a meteorite), Earl convinces his family to compete on the "Family Challenge" game show, all while keeping them in the dark about the grand prize. During the game show, the family is surprised to find that all of the categories are about television. Our personal favorite was "TV From Last Night," which obviously includes questions the family can't answer because they haven't watched a single show since they lost their TV sets.

6. "Refrigerator Day"

Dinosaurs Dinos

One of the things we really love about this show is that no matter how wacky the Sinclairs' adventures get, everything always ends with the family spending more time together and appreciating each other. "Refrigerator Day" is the perfect example. When Earl doesn't get his annual Fridge Day bonus, the family's refrigerator gets repossessed and the family is tasked with celebrating the holiday the old-fashioned way: with a performance of the dinosaurs' discovery of refrigeration. Apparently the reason dinosaurs became civilized is because they gained the ability to store their food. Who knew?

7. "And the Winner Is …"

Dinosaurs Boss

This episode hilariously addresses the elephant in the room: Why doesn't baby have a name? Well, apparently it didn't occur to the the Sinclairs that they never named him until this episode. Unfortunately, when they take Baby to be named by the Elder, he dies while uttering the phrase: " Agh, Agh. I'm dying you idiot," which incidentally ended up being Baby's official name. One thing leads to another and B.P. Richfield and Earl end up running for the position of Chief Elder. Of course neither of them are picked and the DNN anchor wins the role, and later gives Baby the perfect name: Baby Sinclair!

The ABC app, which allows users to access full episodes of shows on demand, is available on the App Store, Apple TV Store, ABC.com, Amazon Appstore, Google Play, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Xbox 360.
